You can measure the exact tread remaining on your tyre by using a gauge device. If you do not have access to one of these devices and are concerned about your tyre tread, you can check it with a 20p coin.
Simply place a 20p into the lowest tread depth of your tyre. If you can no longer see the outer rim, your tyre should be above the minimum. You should check your tread as soon as possible if you can see the edge of the tread.
Seeing the 20p rim would mean you are driving on illegal tyres. Remember that unless you test all the treads on all your tyres you will still risk an accident and fines.

To check your current tyre pressure, firstly, remove the dust cap from the tyre valve and place the pressure gauge onto the value. After that, gently press down with the gauge on the valve stem to get a reading.
Whenever you need to reinflate your tyre, just set the machine to the recommended pressure and keep the gauge on the valve, and the machine will do the rest.
