Wheel alignment not only allows a smooth ride but also keeps you safe on the road. A wheel alignment issue can lead to uneven tyre wear and tear.
As a result, you may have poor contact with the road surface due to uneven tyres. As well as keeping your car running smoothly and saving on tyre costs, correct wheel alignment also keeps your car running efficiently.

What is 4 wheel alignment?
In a nutshell, it does exactly what it says.
Aligning all 4 wheels of your vehicle involves adjusting the front and rear axles and suspension. A 4 wheel alignment will enhance vehicle safety, improve performance, and extend tyre and steering component lifespans.
What are the signs that my wheels need to be aligned?
To determine whether your wheel alignment needs to be corrected, you can perform some simple checks.
- Does your car pull to one side?
- Do you hear squeaking when you drive?
- When driving straight, does your steering wheel appear crooked?
- Do you notice that your tyre is noticeably worn in one section?
There is a good chance that your alignment is out if you have any of these issues.

What are the minimum legal tread levels? What is the best way to measure this?
In the UK, the tyre tread must be 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tire. However, it is recommended that you replace the tyre before they get this low to ensure that your car can stop effectively, particularly in the wet.
You can measure the exact tread remaining on your tyre by using a gauge device. If you do not have access to one of these devices and are concerned about your tyre tread, you can check it with a 20p coin.
Simply place a 20p into the lowest tread depth of your tyre. If you can no longer see the outer rim, your tyre should be above the minimum. You should check your tread as soon as possible if you can see the edge of the tread.
Seeing the 20p rim would mean you are driving on illegal tyres. Remember that unless you test all the treads on all your tyres you will still risk an accident and fines.
What should I do if I need help finding the locking wheel nut key?
Stay calm if you can’t find your locking wheel nut. Please do not try to create your own locking wheel nut device. The result is usually more damage and an unnecessary repair bill.
Let JDK Automotive assist you today – we have all the tools needed to help you.
What is the correct way to check the pressure in your tyres?
You can find the correct tyre pressure inside the driver’s door or inside the fuel cap.
To check your current tyre pressure, firstly, remove the dust cap from the tyre valve and place the pressure gauge onto the value. After that, gently press down with the gauge on the valve stem to get a reading.
Whenever you need to reinflate your tyre, just set the machine to the recommended pressure and keep the gauge on the valve, and the machine will do the rest.
